Drop D. maNga combine nu-metal riffing with Anatolian folk melody and a DJ, which is a genuinely unusual combination and shapes the guitar's role — the riff has to leave space for both the turntables and the modal vocal line, so it is short, muted and rhythmically sparse rather than continuous. Keep the gain around 6 or 7 with the mids only slightly scooped; a full modern metal scoop leaves nothing in the middle for the melody to sit against. Recorded 2004 in Ankara. The band went on to represent Turkey at Eurovision in 2010, and this debut single remains among their most-streamed tracks.
